It is 11 years now since the death of The Leader of the Boko Haram sect , Mohammed Yusuf who was allegedly killed on July 31st, 2009 by the Police in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital. The killing of Yusuf led to the escalation of the Boko Haram crisis that has today engulfed the entire NorthEast Region where several thousands of people have been killed and millions of people either displaced from their homes or living in Internally displaced Camps. Eleven years later, the nation is still at the throes of war with not only Boko Haram terrorists, but with Members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP, as well as unending banditry and kidnappings.
